The United Way Adopt a Family Program allows businesses, community members, groups and organizations to provide local families with gifts and necessities such as food and toiletries during the holidays. Families are identified by service agencies and they are experiencing needs due to financial instability, health issues, or other major circumstances. Adopters will choose from a family wish list with information about the family, clothing sizes and items identified by the family. There are families of all sizes and stages that have need for support this year.

In 2023, United Way of Johnson and Washington Counties connected 173 local families, representing 734 people, including 419 children and 8 homebound adults. Thank you to all the area groups and businesses that adopted families and for all your support!
